AO Foundation specialties—AOCMF
Craniomaxillofacial (CMF) is a surgical specialty that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of congenital and acquired deformities of the cranial and facial skeleton and their associated soft tissue envelope. Congenital deformities include malformations of the skull, orbits and jaws whereas acquired deformities will include traumatic injuries as well benign and malignant neoplasms (tumors) that affect this anatomic region.

The AOCMF organization is a global network of surgeons, scientists and other relevant groups, highly specialized in the field of craniomaxillofacial surgery. To advance the practice of operational CMF surgery worldwide, AOCMF unites experts from all of the following subspecialties: oral and maxillofacial surgery, plastic surgery, otorhinolaryngology—head and neck surgery, ophthalmology, neurosurgery, and general surgery.
