Goal of the course
This AOVET Small Animal Advanced course expands upon the concepts presented in the principles courses and adds new subjects for discussion. It emphasizes different areas of small animal orthopaedics: feline fracture treatment, articular fracture treatment, juxta-articular fracture treatment, arthrodesis, orthopaedic complications, new technologies, management of osteoarthritis, and corrective osteotomies in the treatment cruciate disease, are among the topics covered. The faculty will present new techniques and innovative orthopaedic concepts.
Target participants
The principles course is a prerequisite for this advanced course, since familiarity with instrumentation and techniques will be assumed. The participants should be experienced in small animal fracture treatment in order to actively engage in problem-oriented discussions.
Course description
The AOVET Small Animal Advanced course brings together renowned experts in small animal orthopaedics and traumatology from Europe and North America to share their experience with peers. Through presentations, discussions, and hands-on laboratory sessions, course participants are presented with the most current information in state-of-the-art management and science of fracture repair in veterinary medicine. Participant interaction with faculty is an important part of this course.
