July 2010 sees the worldwide launch of the new AOVET membership initiative to expand its network and provide colleagues across the globe with clear value and improved benefits, while still maintaining a strong community spirit. Details are being made available during the 19th Annual Scientific Meeting of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS) in Helsinki, Finland July 1 to 4.

Breaking ground for the expansion of the animal house

The groundbreaking ceremony to mark the beginning of the construction work for the modernization and expansion of the animal house near the AO Center took place at the end of May.

Highly successful AOVA and staff member events

On March 18 and 19, 2010, the AOVA members and guests travelled to Dübendorf and Davos respectively to visit the AO offices and meet staff.

AOVET Strategy Retreat in Boston

On March 5-6, 2010, eighteen members of the AOVET Specialty came together for a strategy retreat in Boston, Massachusetts. The purpose of this retreat was to develop the basis for a new AOVET community, which will include a sound governance structure and an education and membership network that interested individuals around the world can come to rely on.

AO Foundation plans the modernization of its research facilities

In February, the AO Foundation filed a building application with the municipality of Davos for the modernization and expansion of the existing animal house at the AO Center.
